Internet Explorer 8 IE8
Just downloaded and installed IE8 on one of my windows PC's for testing my various websites compatibility.
What a pain! Warning pop up after warning pop up until I went to Tools/Internet Options/Security/Custom Level and changed settings so I could browse sites normally without having to click OK every 2 flaming seconds.
Edit: It reached the point a couple of days later where I had enough and uninstalled IE8. Before you uninstall beware! When the uninstall of IE8 finished on my XP machine Windows shut down the computer with no option to restart later. So save your work and close all programs first. Go to control panel/add or remove programs click the change or remove programs option if not already selected then scroll way down the bottom to find windows internet explorer 8 and uninstall the pest!
Even after you have carried out this IE8 uninstall process you could find you need to modify the reigistry as described over here.
I.E. has been crashing regularly on my windows pc recently forcing me to use Firefox and Google Chrome more than usual. There are still sites I am forced to access due to my business with I.E. but other than these I.E. is only used for testing and evaluation of my various websites now days.
Firefox on the other hand has once again become the browser of choice on all my PC's lately. This includes Linux and Windows desktops.
I use Google Chrome as well but Chrome lacks some of the plugins I use such as Roboform and LastPass. The lack of this functionality often causes me to use Google Chrome when visiting unknown sites or site of possible risk.
One of the reasons I don't use Google Chrome as often as Firefox is because there is no option I am aware of at this stage for using Google Chrome in Linux unless used with WINE
If you are interested in Google chrome browser it is available for download at http://www.google.com/chrome
