Some Neighbours Are Not Really Good Neighbours

It is really great to have good neighbours who do the right thing and are there to help out when needed and mind their own business when they are not!

Other neighbours are nothing like that!

Can You Defend Yourself?

Are you able to trust government to keep you safe and to protect you?

Do you really support removing your right to defend yourself?

If you are personally attacked, are law enforcement right there on hand to protect or save you when you really need the assistance? Almost always police arrive much later to take your statements, if you are still alive, and view the aftermath.

Premier Inn Tower Hill London

Everythings Premier but the price is their slogan...

This hotel is nice and clean and appears to have had a recent refit judging by the condition of the furniture, fixtures and fittings.

They require payment for the room up front and after this virtually everything costs extra.

There is no fridge in the room.

Amsterdam Boutique Apartments

This is a very nice apartment which beats every hotel room we have ever stayed at.

The room is large with a compact kitchen, comfortable king size bed, dining table, sofa and a desk complete with a Windows XP workstation with Internet and itunes playing through compact Bose sound system. The Bose system has a connection to accept your own mp3 player.

This train arrived at the platform after 08:45 but still left on time.

A faster Thalys express train left Amsterdam station almost an hour earlier but that train required reservations and we had been told in Paris that there were no seats available for our $1000.00 + first class Eurail passes apart for the slower train to Brussels.

Eurostar Brussels to London

While waiting to board the train, after clearing immigration we decided to sit at a table with around 6 stools down either side which had no one sitting at it but there was a bag and something thin flat and square wrapped in cardboard leaning against one end.

We had observed this spot for at least 15 minutes and no one was sitting there but there was a long queue waiting to be served by the lone person behind the counter.

Eurail Train Paris – Amsterdam

Here once again there were discrepancies with Eurail cost expectations and problems with booking compulsory reservations.

We caught the Paris Metro from La Tour Maubourg across to Gare de Lyon firstly to checkout the trip to the station we planned to leave from and to make reservations for travel using Eurail passes to Amsterdam then on to London from Amsterdam.

We arrived at Gare de Lyon and proceeded to make the compulsory Eurail reservations. We must have had a trainee or something serving us as this took more than an hour.

Night Train Tren Hotel Barcelona to Paris

This was the same type of train as the night train from Milano to Barcelona.

Scheduled to depart Barcelona Franca at 21:05 and arrive at Paris Gare de Lyon at 09:01 this train was close to scheduled arrival.

Didn't bother with the dining car on this one after the last experience from Milano to Barcelona a few days earlier.

This was actually the only Eurail pass train we could get out of Barcelona and the compulsory reservation cost was once again 110 Euro each or 220 Euro in total.

Les Jardins D Eiffel

This hotel is located within a short walking distance of the Eiffel Tower.

Getting to the hotel from Gare de Lyon on the Paris metro which is apparently the busiest metro in Europe other than Moscow was straight forward with just one train change required.

Our room at the back of the hotel had a large balcony area which appeared to be the only balcony of this type for the hotel.

The Urban Suites Barcelona.

After staying in a few good and mostly average to poor hotels for the past few weeks this apartment accommodation was extremely appreciated.

This complex appears to be fairly new and is in excellent condition. The apartment we had was outstanding with a kitchen that included everything you would need apart for the actual food which can be purchased a few minutes walk down the street.
